"Okay, it's been five years or so, I suppose it's time to update the ol' bio. Let me see…where to begin…
Well, back in '56, my folks and I were part of this looong wagon train, movin' west - oops, sorry, wrong story. Lemme start over:
Once upon a time, in a kingdom far, far away - oh, wait, that's not it, either. I'll try again:
Mama told me, when I was young; come sit beside me, my only son - aargh! Now that's a dang Skynyrd song!

Oh never mind. Here's the short version:
I'm from Groves, Texas, but I've also lived in Houston, Los Angeles and La Habra, California. I've been playing guitar for a really long time, although I actually started with piano (kind of like my Dawg-brother Ken) but then picked up the guitar and just sort of neglected to put it down. While in California, I got to go to this really cool music school called Musician's Institute - I just wish I could remember everything I leaned (haha).

All I'm really looking for now is a tone that I like and maybe couple of good notes per night. It always helps if we can sneak a blues song or two into the set, too <g>.
So that's about it, I guess. Any thing else you wanna know?"

First rock concert:
Foghat, Styx and Head East at the Lake Charles (Louisiana) Civic Center, February, 1976.

Last book read:
The Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien [http://www.tolkien.co.uk/]

Favorite TV shows:
The Simpsons
The Sopranos
The Andy Griffith Show

Things I might not be able to a show without:
Blackie, my beloved 1981 Hamer Special and
My funky old steel slide that I bought from a guy named Todd for $2.00 in 1975.

Best anecdote I've read lately:
"Chet Atkins was playing in the studio once, and someone walked in and said, 'Man, that guitar sounds good.' Chet overheard that in the talkback monitor, so he put down his guitar and said, 'How does the guitar sound now?'"
- Chuck Ainlay, producer/engineer
